BASIC FLORIDA TREE CARE TIPS
SPRING
- Spread 2″ — 3″ of mulch over the planting area, but do not place it up against the trunk
- Prune away all bad limbs
- Keep soil moist but not soaked
SUMMER
- Prevent insects and diseases growing in your trees
- Keep soil moist but not soaked
- Remove dead, diseased and damaged limbs
AUTUMN
- Great time to plant trees and plants
- Do not rake away all leaves (they are the trees nutrients)
- Prune your trees
Winter
- Maintain organic mulch around roots to help retain water and control temperature
- Remember trees are always thirsty so maintain water but do not soak roots
- Remove all dead wood, NOT live wood
